Cat Footwear has released new styles in the street-inspired CODE collection, the shoe that’s changing the face of daily workwear with fashion-forward functionality. The brand is also announcing the winner of its unique venture capital contest to media and the public this week.

(For Immediate Release)Cat Footwear, makers of modern, trend-setting boots and shoes, first launched its largest-ever global line of minimalist, athletic-casual shoes with the Cat Footwear CODE collection this past fall. Inspired by the streets that were built with iconic Caterpillar equipment, the CODE Collection now boasts even more styles for those who carefully consider their everyday footwear.

The entire collection is now available for testing and review and can be purchased at catfootwear.com/code. While you may have initially seen the CODE Hex and CODE Hex Hi in yellow, grey, black, and white, everything else you will see online is new since the launch—and has been turning heads on both coasts.

The Cat Footwear CODE collection is designed to be versatile, comfortable, and durable to keep the next generation of leaders, remote workers, and other go-getters looking good and feeling strong throughout their day, blurring the lines between work and play. 

We all know the work environment of the 2010’s has transitioned from a nine-to-five model to one fueled by the gig economy, the sharing economy, and a more flexible work-life balance. And people are now focused on buying fewer, better things. Code answers this call by taking the casual feel of a street sneaker and melding it with rugged Cat Footwear DNA.

To put its money where its proverbial mouth is, Cat Footwear launched a unique, recurring “Create Your Own Code” venture capital competition on social media during the month of October, asking people to submit their side hustles, their small business goals, and their entrepreneurial dream jobs using the hashtag #KeepGoing. Cat Footwear is partnering with its online influencers to give away $5,000 to ambitious entrepreneurs to help kickstart their side projects on the path to a new career.

Garnering more than 1.5 million impressions across all channels, the first top five #KeepGoing finalists were announced last week on social media, and we are now proud to announce our first $5,000 winner: breakdancer Kevin Vang (pictured below). 

Vang plans to use the $5,000 to create a space where athlete-artists can go to hone their skills and he can host events and fundraisers for the local urban youth community. “I want to provide people of all ages a chance, whether it be grants, scholarships, or free classes,” said Vang. “It takes one idea, moment, or, in my case, dance move to change someone’s life. I want to bring that to as many people as possible.”

The goal is to continue these inspiring venture capital contests and make them bigger and bigger as the seasons go on. The #KeepGoing campaign is the biggest marketing activation for the brand in more than a decade.
