The Birders Documentary Film: A Video Case Study
The Birders, directed by our founder Gregg Bleakney and produced, edited, and distributed by WhereNext, is a documentary film series about Colombian bird diversity and birdwatching. The Colombian Ministry of Tourism (ProColombia) and Sancho BBDO selected our agency to produce this campaign through a tender process. In winning this bid, a mixed private and public sector selection committee unanimously awarded the contract to WhereNext over every major production and creative studio, both national and international, with offices in Colombia.
With over three million views and a record-breaking 30 + million social media likes and shares, the films have established the country as the number one birding destination on the planet.

Backpacker Magazine Video Case Study
WhereNext produced Backpacker Magazine's 2017 Gear of the Year feature in the backyard of our Bogotá video production studio. We crafted a week-long event package that brought the publication’s team down to Colombia for a trip through the Páramo de Ocetá high-elevation moorlands, including transportation, logistical, and creative production services.
In addition to curating a custom itinerary, the WhereNext photography and visual storytelling pros created a host of creative assets for the Backpacker Magazine crew. Our photo and video content supported two feature-length magazine stories in print and web and was also used for product imagery and trade show exhibition displays.
